Kimora Lee Simmons and Amistad cover the February issue of EBONY magazine — but excerpts from the article about them have us confused over whether or not the pair is actually married.

For high-profile duo beauty maven Kimora Lee Simmons and actor Djimon Hounsou, the term “marriage” is not defined by an official license. The two, who sealed their relationship during a “commitment ceremony” in front of Simmons’ daughters, Ming and Aoki Lee, while in Benin, Africa, said they are married.

Armed with their new baby boy, Kenzo Lee, the two say they feel very fortunate. In fact, Simmons says her ex-husband and father of her two daughters, Russell Simmons, is actively involved in her bicoastal life. “I feel like my life has fallen into the right place in a great way,” she said. “I’ve been very slow and deliberate, and I feel like it has paid off for me in ways that I could not have imagined.”

Whether or not they got the piece of paper to make it official, we love Kimora and Djimon’s blended family! Wonder if BDR wouldn’t let Ming and Aoki pose for the cover? Bet they were PISSED!!! Those little girls love the limelight just like their mama.

UH-OHHHHHHH KIMORA!

Thepcscoop has just learned that Kellwood C., the owner of Baby Phat, is considering filling for bankruptcy due to its inability to meet huge debt payments. Vibe Magazine closed down last month after facing similar problems.

Kellwood Co., one of the largest apparel manufactures in the U.S., could be forced to file for bankruptcy soon, after it failed to reach an agreement with its bondholders, people familiar with the matter said.

The St. Louis-based company, which employs roughly 2,000 people and owns such popular clothing brands as Phat Farm, Sag Harbor and Vince, was taken private in February 2008 by buyout firm Sun Capital Partners for $542 million.

The twin effects of a heavy debt load and a sharp drop in consumer spending have crushed the company's financial results.

WELL GOOD THING FOR KIMORA, WITH HER BULKY CHILD SUPPORT CHECKS AND HER OWN ESTABLISHED WEALTH....THAT SHOULD BE ENOUGH TO SOFTEN THIS HARSH BLOW FOR HER. PLUS SHE "MARRIED GOOD", ONE OF THE BEST RECESSION FIGHTING STRATEGIES AROUND.
