Takers hits numbers in the box office (20.6 million) over The Last Exercist (20.2 million) this week (August 30). T.I. and Idris Elba along with an all star cast really made this modern day ‘Set it Off’ a movie worth seeing.
Playing in 2,206 theaters and starring Idris Elba, Michael Ealy, Chris Brown, Matt Dilon, Hayden Christensen, and T.I., the heist film took in $21 million at the gate with an average of $9,519 per theater. Many box office analysts predicted the film would take in less than $10 million for the entire weekend.
Young Money hot spitter Tyga has dropped new hit for the rap heads. Although its been done many times already, Tyga brings us his version of “BMF’, rapping over the beat and spitting fire at the same time. Some may not agree and say Tyga can’t spit, but we all know everybody at Young Money will soon be platinum according to Wayne’s marketing plan.
Tyga was born Michael Stevenson on November 19, 1989, in Gardena, California. Born of Jamaican and Vietnamese descent, he is the cousin of Travis McCoy, the lead vocalist of the group Gym Class Heroes. He achieved his first recognition opening for Fall Out Boy and Gym Class Heroes during the Young Wild Things Tour in late 2007.
It’s been all smiles since Reggie shook those money hungry hip-hoes. He got rid of Kimmy Cakes after her scene stealing Superbowl fiasco and de-clawed Amber Rose who was scratching at his door to be taken out.
Reggie Bush is kicking off the football season with a clear head by keeping ladies away. The Saints running back — who ended high-profile relationships with Kim Kardashian and Amber Rose this year — celebrated the Saints’ victory over the San Diego Chargers on Friday at Whiskey Blue in New Orleans with Saints teammates Jeremy Shockey, Darren Sharper and Roman Harper. “Flocks of girls were waiting to see Reggie, but he could care less,” a spy said.

NONE OF YOUR DAYYUMM BUSINESS!!!
On being a sex symbol:
“Black men have never been sexy. We’re ‘sportsmen.’ We’re ‘intimidating.’ We’re not ‘good fathers.’ So we need that. I think we should celebrate that. But am I a sex symbol? I don’t know. Not everybody likes one thing.”
On who he’s dating:
“I’m sure people are curious, but do they really care? No. Jesus Christ, does it make a difference in their lives? No, not at all. …I don’t hide my girlfriend in a box or anything like that. I keep a very real existence in my real life. I go shopping for food myself. I have kids. I love my children and I love my kids. But they are not part of that world.”
On His music
“When you listen to hip-hop right now, a lot of it is so aspirational: I wanna get this, I wanna be that. For me, it’s a matter of celebrating who we are and where we are. Being thankful and trying to be content with what you have, as opposed to what you can get. My music, especially the rap stuff, is a bit more observational.”
The young stunner Soulja Boy has been stunned with a law suit over a catch phrase developed by another company. Clement Brown Jr., owner of clothing line Laundry Money, has filed a lawsuit suing Soulja and his SOD click for of stealing the firm’s slogan and using it as their “code of honor.”
According to the lawsuit, Laundry Money’s slogan, which was copyrighted in 2008, reads:
Pretty tight code of conduct to live by. Then. Soulja boy made a slogan…and its like he straight took this guys property and didn’t think he was going to find out.
According to the lawsuit, Soulja Boy merely added lines to Brown’s slogan:
“Grind..Hustle..Double Up..Flip..Stack..Get Yo Weight Up..Save..Shop..Invest..Recoup.
Own Your Own Business..Buy Property..Network..Build Credit..Stay Determined..Stay Focused..
Stay Dedicated..Never Lie To your Higher Authority..Have Goals..Always Remember money First…
Gang Color Yellow and Green…Never Snitch..etc…”
Maybe he should have “Be Authentic” in his code. Come on now Soulja…
Michael Jordan recently opened up, again, about Lebron’s decision to join the Miami Heat. Bron is catching a lot of flac about his decision. Its like, people wanted him to go his entire career simply accumulating stats without winning a championship, and feel sorry for him in the end. I say to hell with that. If at first you don’t succeed, try again, or try something new. Lebron is trying something new. At a recent interview after a golf tournament, the GOAT says Lebrons’ decision is an opportunity that young ball players have now a days, but that would have never crossed his mind.
“There’s no way, with hindsight, I would’ve ever called up Larry [Bird], called up Magic [Johnson] and said, ‘Hey, look, let’s get together and play on one team,’” Jordan said. “But that’s … things are different. I can’t say that’s a bad thing. It’s an opportunity these kids have today. In all honesty, I was trying to beat those guys.”
For the September issue, which also marks the magazine’s 13th anniversary, Editor-in-Chief, Vanessa Satten traveled to Belize for an exclusive one-on-one interview with Shyne Po. Shyne is a rapper who took the fall for Diddy in 2001.
It is alleged that on December 27, 1999, Shyne, along with Combs and then girlfriend, Jennifer Lopez, was involved in a shooting at a Manhattan club which left three people injured. As a result the 21-year-old rapper, whose debut album was pending release, was charged with attempted murder, assault, and reckless endangerment.
On prison: “I looked at bein’ in the pen for 10 joints as my opportunity to concentrate, to get things in perspective. And I never let it devastate me, although it was devastating, because I never thought I was gonna be in jail for 10 years. I thought I was gon’ make a bail. I thought I was gon’ get my shit reversed. I’m terribly optimistic.”
On Diddy: “I don’t know whether he was nervous, afraid,” Shyne says of Puffy. “When you’re afraid and you’re emotional, that’s a different survival tactic. Those are the people that do anything, regardless of character and integrity, to preserve and protect themselves, regardless of who they hurt.
I guess maybe that was the situation. Never been in a situation like that, where he facing years, and he got hundreds of millions and all that shit at stake. But where I’m from, doesn’t matter. You lose everything for your comrade. Again, if you’re in battle, I’ll catch a bullet, too. It ain’t like, Yo, he’s dead. Don’t make no sense for me to die, too. Nah, I’ma die, too! So you hope or you take for granted that all men are the same. But I know all men are not.”
